Aastha Saathi · com.bhaktiplatform.app · Singdm — effective 14 October 2026
Aastha Saathi is a Hindu almanac app: a daily Panchang, the day's rite to keep at home, Suprabhat morning images to share, a personal Jyotish reading, and the Pujari — a temple keeper you can put a question to, tied to a temple you choose. No account or login is required. This policy explains what the app handles and why. It covers the app on both Android and iOS.
What stays on your device
- Birth details (date, time, and place) you enter for a Jyotish reading are stored only on your device. You can edit or delete them at any time. They are never sold and never used to identify you.
- Your conversation with the Pujari is stored only on your device. We hold no session and keep no transcript; clearing the app clears the conversation.
- Your daily rite record — the lamp you lit, the offerings you made, what you recited — is kept only on your device. There is no endpoint for it and it is never sent anywhere.
- Reminder settings and your saved language are stored on your device.
What is sent, and to whom
- Panchang & Suprabhat content is fetched from our servers using only the date and, where relevant, a location — no personal identity is required.
- Jyotish readings and Pujari consultations: your birth date, time and place are sent to our server, which computes the chart and then discards them — they are not written to any database and not written to any log. Only the computed chart facts (such as your lagna, Moon sign, nakshatra, dasha and the day's planetary context), your question, the last few turns of the conversation and your chosen language go on to an AI text provider (OpenRouter / Google Gemini). Your raw birth date, clock time, place name and coordinates are never sent to that provider. Your name is never sent, and there is no field for one.
- Finding a temple near you: if you tap to find temples nearby, the app asks for location permission at that moment and takes one coarse fix. It is rounded to about 110 metres before it leaves your handset, sent to our server for that single search, and passed on to Google Places to list temples around it. It is not stored and not logged, and no background or precise location is ever requested. You can instead search for a temple by name and never grant location at all. The temple you end up choosing — a public place, with its name and city — is recorded against this app's install identifier, so the Pujari keeps speaking for the same temple on your next visit.
- Advertising: the app shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use a device advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. On Android you can reset or limit this identifier in your Android settings. On iOS the app asks you first, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, the ads still work and nothing else in the app changes.
- Measurement: anonymous usage events — such as opening the app, sharing a Suprabhat image, viewing a reading, or finishing a rewarded ad — are sent to our own servers so we can see how the app is used. They go to no third party. They are keyed only to a hashed form of the app's random install identifier; no birth details, no name, and no clock time or coordinates are included.
- Reporting a reply: if you flag a Pujari reply as inappropriate, the flagged text, your chosen reason and any note you add are sent to our server so we can review it. Your birth details are never included.
- Purchases: the Pujari answers one question a day for nothing, and up to five more a day after a rewarded ad. Optional credit packs and a monthly pass are sold through Google Play Billing on Android and Apple In-App Purchase on iOS. We record the store's purchase token and what it granted, so a purchase is honoured once and can be restored. No payment card or billing address ever reaches us — Google and Apple handle payment.
- Install identifier: requests carry a random identifier this app generates for itself, used to count your free daily consultations, to hold what you have purchased, and to remember your chosen temple. It is not a device identifier, it is not linked to any name, and it is erased when you uninstall or clear the app's data.
Notifications
Panchang, rite and Jyotish reminders are optional local notifications scheduled on your device. Enabling them requests the standard notification permission; no personal data leaves the device to schedule them.
Photos
Saving a Suprabhat image writes that one image to your photo library, with your permission. The app never reads, browses or uploads your photo library.
Third-party services
- Google Play services and the Apple App Store (app distribution)
- Google AdMob (advertising)
- OpenRouter and Google Gemini (generating Jyotish reading and Pujari consultation text from chart facts)
- Google Places (listing temples around a coarse location, or matching a temple you search for by name)
- Google Play Billing and Apple In-App Purchase (credit packs and the monthly pass)
These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your personal data.
Children
Aastha Saathi is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.
Your choices
- Edit or clear your birth details inside the app at any time.
- Turn reminders on or off in the app.
- Reset or limit the advertising identifier in Android settings; on iOS, turn tracking off under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Search for a temple by name instead of granting location, or withdraw location permission in your device settings at any time.
- Clear a conversation from the Pujari screen at any time; it exists only on your device.
Entertainment note
Jyotish readings and Pujari consultations are written by an AI and are provided for self-reflection and cultural interest only. They are not a substitute for professional medical, financial, or legal advice.
